In my work I am interested in what is left when a person can no longer speak for themselves. Drawing is at the centre of my practice as a form of attention and understanding, as a way of staying with something long enough to see if it becomes legible. I work across materials and surfaces, through processes of mark-making, transfer and impression onto paper, metal, wax, fabric and found surfaces. I’m drawn to figures who are hard to find in archives, leading me to sites that can act as a substitute. Running through my practice is an interest in divination and animism as a way of looking and knowing.
